Job description
Africa’s leading specialist in the manufacturing of premium knitted and woven mattress fabric based in Elsies River industrial is seeking to fill the role of an Industrial Engineering Intern on a 12-month internship programme.
Minimum Skills/Experience and Knowledge:
- Degree in Industrial Engineering or equivalent.
- A good understanding of lean manufacturing and optimization.
- Proactive, a good communicator with the ability to work well with others in a multifunctional team.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required
- Excellent level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Valid driver’s license and own car would be advantageous.
Behavioral Dimensions Required:
- The ability to work under pressure and deal with setbacks.
- Good planning, organizing, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- The ability to work with other departments.
Key Performance Areas:
- Be involved in production process and equipment planning, documentation, monitoring and optimization through implementation of LEAN principles.
- Other activities include participation in engineering development and operator training.
- Support production departments and manufacturing/process engineering needs.
