The City of Johannesburg (CoJ) is offering Internship opportunities to suitably qualified and unemployed graduates. The Interships will run for a a period NOT exceeding eighteen (18) months.
Interns will be required to sign an internship agreement, in additional to an employment contract, committing themselves to full participation in the educational and workplace assignments in accordance with laid-down policies and procedures.
Stipend: 9 960,45 pm (Basic Salary, no benefits)
Duration: 18 months contract

Internship: Assets
Department: Transport Department
Requirements: Diploma or Degree in: Accounting Sciences / Management Accounting / Financial Accounting / Financial Management Accounting or related tertiary qualification.
Duties: Capitalisation of movable Assets in all seven (7) regions within the City of Johannesburg. Monitor Assets under Construction (AUC) / Work in progress (WIP in all seven regions within the City of Johannesburg. Physical verification of movable and immovables Assets in the fixed Assets register (capitaised Projects) in all seven (7) Regions within the city of Johannesburg for completeness and reporting and audit purposes. Assets accounting & monitoring. Provide administrative support in relation to the unit and maintain record keeping in compliance with record keeping requirements. General office administration work, which may include basic word data entry, filing and Organising and related work. Payments of Accounts payable. Raise accruals on SAP system. Acquisition of movable assets. Processing insurance claims for reported damage or destroyed assets due to unforeseen events such as fire, theft or natural disaster;
Skills and Competencies: Computer literacy (Microsoft Word, Excel). Good communication skills. Administration policy and principles. Knowledge of accounting principles. Internship: Administrative Assistant
Department: Group Corporate & Shared Services (GCSS)
Requirements: Diploma or Degree in Public Administration / Administration / Business Administration / Management or related qualification
Duties: Provide effective comprehensive administrative support and logistical services to Group Strategic Management Support Branch in order to ensure the efficiency of the business unit. Coordinate administrative requirements associated with Management Support functionality. Performs general clerical duties and renders support to the unit. Promote the efficiency of the Strategic Management and Support Services. Collate and prepares qualitative and quantitate information for inclusion into specific statutory reports.
Skills and Competencies: Computer literacy (MS Office Packages, including Word, Excel). Good written and oral communication skills in English and must be able to communicate and coordinate effectively with other stakeholders. Attention to detail and high levels of accuracy and good planning, organising, coordinating, and time management skills.
